CoP
Connection Design
CoP is an innovative application for the calculation of structural joints in steel construction.
CoP is based on the component method that allows for a complete understanding of the joint behaviour. As a result joints may be easily modified (reinforced, stiffened or optimised) according to the requirements of the users. This usually leads to a more economic structural design, as the joints are known to contribute up to 50% of the global cost of the structure.
Key Features
- Connection designs are fully compliant with the latest versions of EC3, DIN 18800 and BS5950-2000
- CoP is used to design joints with simple connections and continuous or semi-continuous connections
- Powerful project control function allows Engineers to use a stand alone license to design the connections for a StruCad model
- The full set of designed connections are allocated a joint number that refers to their position in the model. The connections can then be e-mail to a StruCad Detailer
- Using the connection references allocated by the Engineer the StruCad Detailer can simply drop the designed connections onto the relevant points in the model and have them automatically detailed ready for fabrication.
