StruPlant for Plant Engineering, Procurement & Construction (EPC)
Plant Structures
In today’s tough economic climate, cost efficiencies are continually being sought throughout the process and power plant supply chain.
StruPlant is a solution suite that uniquely supports the entire structural supply chain through plant design, fabrication and into construction.
Built on the industry leading Fabrication Information Modeling (FIM) methodology for structural engineering, StruPlant solutions provide an open, yet fully integrated steelwork design and management environment, on a fully internationalized .NET platform.

Where fully deployed StruPlant solutions deliver:
- Comprehensive structural layout, design modeling and detailing that is highly productive, with design automation, and automated deliverables for fabrication and CNC production machines.
- Open and established integration with leading plant design and structural analysis systems, using industry standards.
- Managed and collaborative workflow of all aspects of structural engineering through estimating, design, contracts, procurement, suppliers, production and into site construction.
About FIM
Traditional structural workflows between engineering, detailers, fabricators and construction are invariably fragmented, with models and data being re-entered/re-modeled, between plant design, analysis and detailing systems – often many times through the design process. As a result, error and a loss of accuracy reflect in estimation inaccuracies, production and construction planning - causing avoidable and costly rework.
FIM is a business strategy methodology that harnesses the structural supply chain and workflows between engineering, fabricators and construction companies through open, best practice solutions and standards based integration. FIM is widely endorsed by many of the international structural steel associations.
Through FIM and adoption of mutually beneficial contracting strategies in the structural supply chain, significant cost savings in production and construction can be realized much earlier in the design phase, in conjunction with other engineering disciplines.
